Victoria’s Secret Fashion Show took place a couple of weeks ago, marking its 10th anniversary. Yes, this once-humble lingerie showcase has officially outlasted most reality TV marriages. What started as a small, intimate affair is now a global spectacle watched by 2 billion people. That’s roughly one-third of the world’s population, all collectively staring at impossibly perfect human specimens gliding down a runway. The lesson? Lace and sequins are the true universal language.

And yes, you probably liked what you saw. Looking forward to next year’s instalment, when yet another generation of celestial beings descend to remind us that we are all but mere mortals with questionable posture.

Last night (November 9) we were in attendance at the Victoria’s Secret Fashion Show, featuring some of the world’s leading supermodels, including Tyra Banks, Gisele Bundchen, Heidi Klum and Adriana Lima, you can catch the show on CBS on Tuesday, Dec. 5. This special marked the final “Victoria’s Secret Fashion Show” appearance for Tyra Banks and the first post-pregnancy runway appearance for Heidi Klum.

The fashion show also introduces the next generation of Victoria’s Secret “Angels”, including new modelling sensations Selita Ebanks and Izabel Goulart, who will be making their fashion show debut.

The fashion spectacular featured a runway presentation infused with a holiday theme and features musical performances by Ricky Martin and Seal.

It remains to be seen how this tradition will evolve in the coming years. Will the wings get bigger? The heels higher? The outfits somehow even smaller? Only time will tell. But one thing is certain: for 42 minutes every year, the world forgets about its problems and collectively embraces the sheer, sparkling magic of well-lit, gravity-defying excellence.
