This page explains the possibilities of advertising on Aardling.com. The blog was established in 2003 by Stijn Vogels. The range of topics is vast: op-eds on current events and culture, latest developments in science and technology, but also lifestyle and entertainment. Opportunities are myriad. There are several hundred articles for each topic and more published every day.

Advertorial Examples
Although not often, I do sometimes write ‘sponsored’ stories. Here is an overview of advertorials published over the past years, with indication of agency and supplier.
- Dec 2004: Blog of the Week (for Clickx Magazine).
- Oct 2010: test of the Duracell myGrid wireless charger (by Porter Novelli for Duracell).
- May 2011: Blogger dinner at The Cube (by PRide for Electrolux).
- Jun 2011: Party weekend in Cape Town, South Africa (by isobar for J&B/Diageo).

A careful choice of topics ensures the subject of these posts interests myself as well as the established readership. It can take years to build loyal readership, but only one mistake to lose them.
Our Mission
You may be interested to know that all advertising profits are donated to a good cause. This personal choice comes from a need to give something back. Here are the organisations we’ve supported during recent years.
- What started out as an annual tradition to buy Unicef Christmas cards turned into the first sponsorship. In 2009 they received € 83 and in 2010 that number had grown to € 310.
- In 2011 we gathered € 650+ for Wikipedia and Music For Life.
- The plan for 2012 is to have one good cause per month, starting with Amnesty International, SOS Kinderdorpen and WWF. The other months are still open for debate.
These organisations really appreciate your support. Feel free to click on ads, but only if you’re actually interested.
