Orvillecopter: Nyan Cat leeft!

Is it a bird? Is it a plane? Het is Cat-Man! Officieel is België het land van surrealisme. Maar deze Nederlander kan er ook wat van. Toen zijn kat Orville werd overreden door een auto bouwde Bart Jansen zijn geliefde huisdier om tot een helicopter. Een ode aan luchtvaartpionier Orville Wright. Het resultaat is dit kunstwerk.

“After a period of mourning he received his propellers posthumously,” Jansen said. It is now ‘half cat, half machine’, and part of a visual art project to pay tribute to his pet. He calls it “Orvillecopter,” and it’s on show at the Kunstrai art festival in Amsterdam. The Orvillecopter currently can’t keep its altitude, a problem Jansen has promised to fix. “He will receive more powerful engines and larger props for his birthday. So this hopping will soon change into steady flight,” he added.
